My freshman year I started at a new school and my first day I met Jared. He was so amazing, he talked to me and made me laugh right off the bat. I asked someone who he was and they told me that he was dating the prettiest girl in my class. I thought to myself, “whatever I’ll date him at some point.” We ended up talking alot and being good friends. Towards the end of the year his girlfriend broke up with him and we started to talk a bit more. We went to our schools state competition for Track and Girl’s soccer. He was a track star and I was an over aggressive soccer player. My team lost but I went to the last boys track meet to watch. We sat in the grass and talked and I found my first (and so far the only) four leaf clover and I gave it to him. He put it in his shoe and ran the best race he had ever run before. We road the bus back home together and that was our first time holding hands.
My parents didn’t want me talking to Jared (or boys in general for that matter) so I would wake up at 2 in the morning to sneak calls to him. And on May 14, 2007 he asked me to be his girlfriend! I said yes of course without telling my parents. One weekend he snuck over when my family wasn’t home….I knew we would get caught and sure enough my brother heard me talking about it on the phone and busted me. Our school ended up shutting down and some parents put together a new school, but my mom sent me to a different school to keep me away from Jared. Of course that didn’t work…We stayed together for a year and a half and then he told me he was going to marry me which freak me out and I broke up with him…my bad.
We both dated other people for the next year and he joined the Marine Corps, and after a messy break up I texted him with a car question… We ended up talking a ton just like good times. He realized he wasn’t happy in his relationship and broke up with her. We talked for a couple months and he took leave and came home to ask me out again on April 6, 2010. My parents were not happy, but I was. I knew I would marry him this time.
Here we are now, he has a ring and I’m just waiting to marry the man of my dreams. I love you so much Jared. You are the world to me!
